Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can, thank you.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday Patrick Lancaster - crowd-funded U.S journalist, mostly pro-Russian, works on the ground near warzones to report news and talk to locals.

Pro-Ukraine

With the entire western media sphere being overwhelming pro-Ukraine already, you shouldn't really need more, but:

Hot take but China is lowkey trash at doing propaganda, at least in the English language

Seriously? all they can muster is paying some random white person to go on an obviously guided tour of Xinjiang?

a bunch of Tankies on Twitter do a better job debunking that Uyghur stuff than the entire propaganda wing of the Communist Party of China

The power of having a bipolar political system. Create a fake conflict between two nearly identical parties, make people get really emotionally invested in their team - boom, you now have a more pervasive propaganda apparatus than any centralized state apparatus could come up with. If anyone starts getting skeptical of the bullshit, you just do some more provocative conflict and make them believe the “opposite” party of the one they don’t trust. People just start doing your propaganda for you.

Downsides: disfunction, internal conflict, political gridlocks, fractured and disunified nation, extremists who start believing the bullshit start getting into power

Upsides: eternal dialectical capture of the minds of the population

They stopped all attempts to export the revolution during reform and opening up, reform and opening up has been over since 2014 because of Xi's deliberalization but they still have no interest in a worldwide ideological project.

I wonder if Xi's making good on the promises of common prosperity will create a new generation of more left wing leaders in China who actually are interested in pushing the communism button.

if you look at CGNT content, you can clearly see that they don't really care about catering to angloids. Either they are shit at it or they don't give a shit/know that angloids would be irrelevant in the near future

it's for people who already made their minds on China or already in China (expats) but are not super familiar with the language/culture

I don’t speak Chinese so idk if the domestic “propaganda” is any more convincing than the English

First of all I don't know where you got the "random white guy" visit from, you should look at this infographic about all the visits to Xinjiang, second for years they kept inviting the US, EU and the UN and they refused. Until the UN visit a few months ago the only people that accepted were mostly Muslim countries and some random western delegations. When the UN finaly decided to visit they did this report

I think from very early on China was calling the west bluff and trying to make them actualy go there in person and prove it, but they couldn't do it.

At that point what are you going to do? Do you think the anglos will give a shit if you show the Muslims touring Xinjiang? They'd cry propaganda either way.

I think for the people that actualy care about finding the truth it is pretty easy to find out Zenz is lying. They did most of what they could, do the interviews, documentaries, let anyone visit if they want.

YT already puts a giant label on their channel saying "StAtE aFFiLiaTed". There is zero chance westoids will give a flying fuck about what CPC says on official media either way.

They don’t need anglo propaganda. The people they are propagandizing aren’t getting posters or shitty tweets, they’re getting massive infrastructure projects that last for generations that improve material conditions a million times more than any “investment” the west has ever done

Either that or they just don't really give a fuck what westoids think. They know that the west needs them more than they need the west.
