When you look at Japan's history. It's pretty militaristic and fascist. It's only been pacified cuz they lost ww2. So none of this surprises me.
And even then, a lot of the people responsible for the atrocities committed by Japan were either punished very mildly or let off the hook by the US and UK after the war. The fascists never really left Japan

The Nuremberg trials only happened because the USSR had boots on the ground in Germany.
I remember hearing "making it easier to change the constitution" was a right wing dog while in Japan, I guess this makes sense of this is their agenda with that.
