I won't be able to write an update for today and tomorrow (as well as Sunday, my day off) due to work and travel - and honestly, due to overexposure to the words "international rules-based order" and "wage-price inflationary spiral" and "insignificant advances", I probably need a little time to unmelt my brain. I'll post some articles - good or bad - where I have an internet connection.

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can, thank you.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Every time I see the phrase "international rules-based order", another cluster of neurons in my brain dies. It's just a nonsense phrase at this point, like a runcible spoon. Put that shit in the Jabberwocky poem.

It's especially funny because the UK is actively breaking the international rules-based agreement they made with the EU over Northern Ireland but they still bleat about how important the rules based order is

the US ripped up their submarine deal with France to do AUKUS instead. Of course they tore up the Iran Deal that involved almost every country in the international rules-based community (same map lol)

Remember when the US committed perfidy and assassinated a diplomatic and political figure? How many rules you reckon they broke there? Anybody punished for the murder of Soleimani?

Oh yeah and Israel assassinated scientists, annexing the Golan Heights and Palestine and having nukes but hiding that fact? How many rules are they following?

Who wrote the rules? Not important, you have to follow them (we don’t tho, according to provision 181(c) in act 45b)

If anyone ever says rules based international order, point out that when Nicaragua won a case against the US before the International Court of Justice in 1986 because the US armed and trained terrorists in Nicaragua and also placed sea mines in Nicaragua's civilian harbours, the US refused to accept the ruling and withdrew from the International Court of Justice.
